The media office of Col. Gbenga Adegbola (Rtd.) has issued a formal statement debunking reports suggesting that a political endorsement was made during a recent visit by Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Addressing supporters, stakeholders, and members of his campaign team, Adegbola described the circulating claims as misleading, insisting that the visit to President Tinubu was purely a courtesy engagement in the spirit of Sallah celebrations.
According to the statement, the APC delegation’s visit to the President was intended strictly as a traditional goodwill call to extend Barka da Sallah greetings and reaffirm respect for the office of the President. He stressed that no political discussions involving endorsement of any aspirant for the Oyo North Senatorial District took place during the meeting.
“There was no endorsement,” the statement emphasized, dismissing speculations linking the visit to internal party positioning ahead of future political contests.
Adegbola maintained that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains committed to democratic principles, fairness, and internal party processes, noting that decisions within the party are guided by collective will rather than individual preference.
He further urged his supporters to disregard what he described as “political noise,” advising them to remain focused and united despite ongoing rumours.
Reassuring his political base, Adegbola restated his determination to remain actively engaged in the race, saying his aspiration is “intact, focused, and resolute.” He also reaffirmed loyalty to the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and its Renewed Hope agenda.
Supporters were encouraged to stay calm and continue grassroots mobilisation efforts, with the statement expressing confidence in the strength of the campaign structure already in place.
The message concluded with calls for unity within the APC and continued support for the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
