APM: SMD Rejoices with Makinde, Adeoye on Candidacy Affirmation

A prominent socio-political support group, Seyi Makinde Disciples (SMD), has congratulated Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and Prince Laja Adeoye following their emergence as presidential and Lagos State governorship candidates respectively under the platform of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group, in a statement issued by its spokesman, Olusegun C A Taiwo (OCAT) on behalf of members across different states, reaffirmed its commitment to the political movements tagged “Reset Nigeria Movement” of Engr. Seyi Makinde and “Reset Lagos Agenda” of Prince Laja Adeoye.

According to the statement, SMD is fully prepared to embark on massive grassroots mobilization, sensitization campaigns, and community engagements across the country to ensure the success of both political projects.

The group described Prince Laja Adeoye as a visionary and people-oriented leader with the competence, capacity, and grassroots connection required to reposition Lagos State through inclusive governance, infrastructural renewal, youth empowerment, and economic transformation.

Speaking on the presidential ambition of Engr. Seyi Makinde, the group noted that the governor’s achievements in Oyo State have continued to inspire confidence among Nigerians seeking purposeful and result-driven leadership.

“Seyi Makinde has consistently demonstrated practical governance through infrastructural development, improved education, healthcare reforms, economic expansion, and youth empowerment. The time has come to extend this developmental model to the national level through the Reset Nigeria Movement,” the statement read.

SMD further stated that the Reset Nigeria Movement represents a collective aspiration for visionary leadership, national unity, economic prosperity, and inclusive governance capable of restoring hope and confidence among Nigerians.

On the Lagos project, the group explained that the Reset Lagos Agenda is designed to promote good governance, sustainable development, security, job creation, and greater opportunities for youths and women across Lagos State.

The group called on Nigerians, particularly youths, professionals, market leaders, artisans, women groups, and progressive-minded citizens, to support the two movements in building a better Lagos and a greater Nigeria.

SMD reiterated its commitment to mobilizing support across wards, local governments, and states nationwide, stressing that the Allied People’sMovement (APM) remains a credible platform for progressive governance and national development ahead of the 2027 elections.
