A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK), has dismissed ongoing political rumours surrounding his ambition, describing them as mere speculation.
AKK made this clarification while addressing party members at a Ward 6 meeting in Ibadan South West Local Government Area, where he reiterated his loyalty to the party and its leadership structure.
According to him, the APC remains a united platform guided by the principle of party supremacy. He stressed that all members, including himself, would align with any official decision taken by the party leadership regarding the 2027 governorship race.
He noted that once the leadership of the Oyo APC declares its position, loyal party members are expected to abide by it and act accordingly in the interest of unity and progress.
Despite the rumours, AKK confirmed that he remains actively in the race for the governorship ticket and is continuing consultations and preparations ahead of the anticipated direct primaries.
The aspirant also подчеркнул the constitutional right of party members to support candidates of their choice, describing it as a fundamental aspect of internal democracy within the party.
