The Laja Adeoye Campaign Organisation (LACO) has strengthened its campaign structure ahead of the 2027 Lagos State governorship election with the appointment of Olusegun C. A. Taiwo, popularly known as OCAT, as Senior Special Assistant on Digital Media Communications.
The appointment, announced on Wednesday, was contained in a statement signed by the Coordinator of LACO, Otunba S. A. Alebiosu, who described Taiwo’s appointment as “a round peg in a round hole,” given his professional expertise and experience in digital media, information and communications technology, journalism and media entrepreneurship.

According to the organisation, Taiwo will contribute to strengthening the campaign’s digital media and communications capacity, particularly in online engagement, content strategy and multimedia outreach. His appointment is expected to enhance the organisation’s ability to communicate its programmes, policies and vision effectively to Lagosians across various digital platforms.

Taiwo is a Digital Multimedia Consultant, ICT professional, journalist and media entrepreneur with expertise in web development, webcasting, online audio-visual deployment, content creation and writing, and political media strategy. He is also the publisher of 9ja News 24/7 and holds a degree in Computer Science from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, as well as postgraduate training in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja.

Sequel to the appointment, he was the spokesperson for Seyi Makinde Disciples (SMD).
LACO said the appointment was part of its commitment to assembling a formidable campaign team as activities for the 2027 election gather momentum. The organisation said further appointments to key positions would be announced as the campaign advances, while welcoming Taiwo to the team and expressing confidence in his capacity to contribute to the campaign’s digital communications strategy.
