HON. KAREEM TAJUDEEN ABISODUN EMPOWERS 100 YOUTHS IN FISHING; HOSTS MINISTER OF POWER, HON. ADELABU, IN SAKI
In a remarkable display of commitment to youth empowerment and agricultural development, Hon. Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun, member representing Saki West, Saki East, and Atisbo Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, has successfully concluded the second phase of his Youth Empowerment Training on Aquaculture and Modern Fishing Techniques.
The five-day intensive training, facilitated through the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN), empowered 100 young men and women across the Old Ifedapo Federal Constituency with practical knowledge and hands-on skills in modern fish farming and aquaculture management.
As part of the empowerment initiative, each beneficiary received a comprehensive startup kit containing essential tools to immediately begin their own ventures including tapolin fish ponds, fishing nets, weighing balances, large basins, salt, feeds, and fish juveniles.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Hon. Abisodun emphasized the importance of equipping youths with sustainable skills that can enhance food security, promote self-reliance, and boost the local economy. He urged all participants to make good use of the opportunity and the resources provided.
This initiative is not just about empowerment; it’s about building capacity and creating wealth within our constituency,” he said. “I encourage all beneficiaries to be dedicated, innovative, and result-oriented in their fish farming businesses.”
The event also witnessed the distinguished presence of the Honourable Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, who paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Abisodun at his Saki residence immediately after the empowerment programme. The minister commended Hon. Abisodun for his grassroots-oriented leadership and impactful representation, describing the empowerment as “a model for sustainable youth engagement and rural economic development.”
Hon. Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun reaffirmed his commitment to continue facilitating more people-centered projects that would enhance livelihoods, reduce unemployment, and contribute to the overall development of Oke Ogun and Oyo State at large.
