Member Representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber of Nigeria has commiserated with the sons and daughters of Ibadanland on the passing of The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Sen) Lekan Balogun, PhD, Alli Okunmade II.

In his words:

“It is with a heavy heart that I extend my deepest condolences to all the sons and daughters of Ibadan on the passing of The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Sen) Lekan Balogun, PhD, Alli Okunmade II. His departure leaves a profound void in our hearts and in the tapestry of Ibadan’s rich history.
“Oba Lekan Balogun’s brief but remarkable reign of two years was marked by wisdom, grace, and a profound commitment to the well-being of his people. His legacy will forever be cherished, and his contributions to the cultural heritage of Ibadan will endure through the annals of time.
“I was particularly close to the late monarch. He was like a father to me. He was instrumental to my becoming a Mogaji. He was my Senator in Oyo Central Senatorial District and he was my constituent because he was a resident of Egbeda Local Government.
“During this time of mourning, may we find solace in the memories we shared with Oba Lekan Balogun and draw strength from the unity and resilience of our beloved community. Let us honor his memory by upholding the values of unity, progress, and solidarity that he exemplified.
“On behalf of myself, my family, the good people of Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, please accept my sincerest condolences and the assurances of my highest regards.
“May Oba Lekan Balogun’s soul rest in eternal peace.
Sincerely,
Hon. Akin Alabi”
