Obedu Community Grammar School Old Students’ Association, Isinbode Ekiti, Ekiti State (1994 Set) has donated writing materials to their alma mater, reinforcing their commitment to supporting academic excellence.
The program which marked the 30th year anniversary of Obedu’94 Set as said by the National President, Engr Ajibade Aruna.
In his opening remarks, the National President said, the association had registered JAMB for 9 students in March 2024 as part of their measures to encourage the younger generation and compliment the efforts of Ekiti State Govt in the area of prioritising education in Ekiti State.
“Today, we are distributing writing materials such as 500 customized exercise books,many pens etc to all categories of students to support parents and as part of our give back to our Alma matter.”
In a seminar presented by the chairman projects and Implementation Committee Obedu’94 Set, Comrd Olawale Ezekiel Ogunyebi,
“Unlocking Academic Excellence: Empowering Future Leaders” is thought- provoking.
“We, the 1994 Set, are proud to give back to our alma mater. We believe in the potential of public schools to shape future leaders. We urge students and parents to seize opportunities available in these institutions.”
Amongst the Obedu’94 Set are captains of industries, Managers, senior civil servants home and abroad.
The guest speaker urged teachers to be more dedicated to their duties as the rewards of teachers no more in heaven.
The motivational speaker urged parents to put in place all necessary materials for their children and go through their weekly activities for academic excellence.
Comrd Olawale appreciated the efforts of Govt in providing an enabling environment to learn for our students and procurement of a set of computers and solicit for more infrastructure development.
In his own remarks, the Area Education Officer, Mr Ilesanmi appreciated the gesture,pray for long life and unending prosperity for Obedu’94 Set and urged students to follow the footsteps of this association for they will also soon be an alumni.
The Principal of the school, Ch Abayomi Olawale Osho appreciated the gesture and urged them to keep the good work going and pray for more blessings and long life for all members of the Obedu’94 Set.
Other dignitaries at the event includes; The Onisin of Isinbode,Oba Barr Emmanuel Adesoji Akinyemi,ably represented by Ch Abayomi Kayode (The Oisikin of Isinbode Ekiti) who is also a member of Obedu’94 Set,the PTA chairperson,Mrs Mary Akinbobola, the Vice principal of the school,the Hon Councilor Isinbode Ward, Hon Rotimi Ibitoye, parents and teachers among other important personalities.
The event was colourful with a cultural dance by the students to welcome the representative of Obedu’94 Set at the occasion.
The school prefect,Miss Funmilayo appreciated the donations, promised the students will not disappoint them while she prayed for journey mercies back to their various destinations.
