A wave of excitement and acceptance swept through Oke-Ogun 2 as Dr. Gbenga Adegbola, a leading APC gubernatorial aspirant for the 2027 elections, concluded his tour of the region.

The Saki-born political figure was met with enthusiastic welcomes in Saki East, Igboho, Igbeti of Olorunsogo and Kishi of Irepo local governments respectively, marking a significant step in his quest to reshape the political landscape of Oyo State.

Leaders across the region expressed their support for Dr. Adegbola’s ambition, highlighting the growing momentum behind his campaign.

The tour culminated in a dramatic political shift as approximately 2,000 members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), led by Comrade Adeyemo, publicly defected to the APC in Kishi, pledging their allegiance to Dr. Adegbola’s gubernatorial aspirations.

Addressing the crowds, Dr. Adegbola expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming reception. “I appreciate and feel honored to be here today, for you all to believe in this course that it’s high time for power shifts to other regions, most importantly Oke-Ogun,” he stated.

He further pledged his commitment to improving the lives of Oke-Ogun residents and the entire Oyo State, emphasizing the importance of equitable distribution of democratic dividends and development. “I pledged that this course shall champion betterment for Oke-Ogun and Oyo State for equity, dividend of democracy and development,” he concluded.

The mass defection and the royal blessing signal a significant boost for Dr. Adegbola’s campaign, demonstrating the growing support for his vision across Oke-Ogun 2.
