
The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North West Local Government, Alh AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju has congratulated Muslim ummahs across the globe for the privilege to witness the completion of this year Ramadan with a task to be more committed in their good behaviors after Ramadan.
The words of advice was contained in his Eid el fitir message to the people of his local government and the state in general.
According to the chairman, Ramadan comes but once in a year and it is compulsory for all Muslims to do the needful during and after the Holy month. He maintained that Ramadan is a unique month in the Muslim calendar that encompasses peace,unity charity, forgiveness, love and harmony hence the need to move closer to Allah to earn a remarkable rewards. The council Boss enjoined all and sundry to strive in sustaining all their good deeds as practiced in the holy month to enhance their spirituality and the growth of the society.
He further admonished all Muslims to adhere strictly to the lessons learnt in the Holy month which include perseverance, humility, love, care for one another, abstaining from sins and fostering a sense of appreciation.
He however, appealed to all Muslims to emulate all the teachings and hadiths of Prophet Muhammed(PBH) during and after Ramadan so as to earn an everlasting rewards from Almighty Allah. The Chairman charged Muslim ummahs to stay firmly to the pillars of Islam as written in the Holy Quran for more rewards from Allah.
Alh Adepoju reiterated that Eid el fitir should not be seen as wining and dining with family members alone but a time to share love and affection with the less privileged in the society by giving them food and other valuables, this will go a long way in putting smiles on their faces.
In the same vein, the Chairman has appreciated all the Islamic clerics within the Council area for their prayers and unflinching supports in ensuring peaceful co-existence within the Local Government and the state in general. He charged them not to relent in praying for the present administration under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde in making his visions for the state come to reality.
However, the Chairman has affirmed that bans of carnivals and other illegal gatherings within the Council area during the festive periods are still intact. Whoever found wanton will be punished accordingly. He charged everybody to desist from illegal acts and be law abiding during the festive period.
