Hon. Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire has expressed sympathy for all those affected by the devastating explosion that rocked Ibadan last night, saying that everyone should speak out when they see something.
The community-minded representative revealed this today, Wednesday, in an empathy note that he personally signed and made available to Polity Reporters.
“Last night’s explosion in Ibadan has left many of our neighbours facing unforeseen challenges, and my heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragic incident,” he condoled.
Fagbenro, who characterized the development as very unfortunate, distressing, and painful, took a moment to thank the Oyo State government’s prompt intervention in addressing the matter and providing support and relief to those affected by it.
He said, “I want to appreciate the Oyo State government’s prompt response to the aftermath of the explosion. Their fast steps have undoubtedly alleviated people’s anxieties and mitigated the immediate impact of the unfortunate tragedy in the surrounding areas.”
As a result, he urged Ibadan residents and Nigerians in general to be watchful and report anything they notice— when you see something, say something.
His words, “Now, more than ever, I urge all of us to stay alert as citizens. Our safety is a collective responsibility, and if we see anything unusual, we must say it, as each of us plays an important role in ensuring the safety of our society.”

“Now, more than ever, I urge all of us to stay alert as citizens. Our safety is a collective responsibility, and if we see anything unusual, we must say it. Reason is, each of us contributes greatly to the security of our environment.
