The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced plans to reopen its electronic membership registration nationwide on August 31, 2026, as the party begins preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The exercise, which will be conducted across all wards in the country, is expected to provide an opportunity for new members and intending supporters to formally join the ruling party, while existing members will be required to validate and update their membership records.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.

According to the party, prospective registrants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN) to participate in the electronic registration process.

The APC urged its members, supporters and other stakeholders across the country to take advantage of the exercise, describing the registration as an important step towards strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.

The party explained that the electronic membership registration is designed to digitise its membership register and ensure that its records are accurate, current and easily accessible.

It added that the digital system would improve access to reliable membership data for effective planning and management decisions, while also supporting greater transparency and strengthening internal democratic processes within the party.

The APC said the exercise would further reinforce its commitment to democratic development and provide a more efficient platform for managing its growing membership nationwide.

With the 2027 general elections approaching, the party’s latest move is expected to boost its membership mobilisation and organisational structure across the country.
