

February 20 was a moment for dedication to the people as Oluwatobi Ogunbayo, an aspirant for the House of Representatives, Ibadan Southwest/Northwest Federal Constituency of All Progressive Confess (APC) formally declared his intention to contest in the 2027 general elections, promising purposeful representation anchored on the “Renewed Hope” agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The declaration at 8, Ajadi Street Elewura Challenge Ibadan signals Ogunbayo’s entry into the race to represent the people of Ibadan Southwest and Ibadan Northwest at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.


Speaking at the official unveiling, Ogunbayo said his aspiration is driven by a deep commitment to grassroots development, youth empowerment, and inclusive economic growth across the constituency.


He noted that his legislative focus, if elected, would prioritise job creation, improved infrastructure, quality education, and enhanced support for small and medium-scale enterprises. According to him, the people of Ibadan Southwest and Northwest deserve vibrant and responsive representation that will attract federal presence and opportunities to the constituency.


Ogunbayo reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, stating that alignment with the Renewed Hope agenda would facilitate synergy between the executive and legislative arms for the benefit of the people.
He added that his campaign would be people-centered, issue-based, and anchored on consultation with stakeholders, community leaders, women groups, and youth organisations across the constituency.
The event drew party faithful, community leaders, youth groups, and supporters from across Ibadanland, marking what Ogunbayo describes as “the beginning of a new chapter of effective representation and renewed hope for every home.”
