The Lagos State governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Prince Laja Adeoye, has defined plans for a digital-inclined and youth-friendly administration under his Àtúntò Èkó 1.0 – RESET Lagos Agenda. The programme places technology, skills development, entrepreneurship and job creation at the centre of its economic strategy, with proposed technology hubs, skills academies, support for small and medium-scale businesses and expansion of the creative and digital economy. Adeoye has also pledged a wider digital transformation of governance and the civil service as part of his plan to make Lagos more efficient and responsive.

In a statement by the SSA Digital Media Communication to the Laja Adeoye Campaign Organisation (LACO) on Wednesday, saying Adeoye was not merely talking about youth inclusion but had demonstrated it within his campaign organisation by appointing young people to strategic roles and deploying digital platforms and communication tools in reaching Lagosians. The statement said the candidate believes young people should be active participants in governance, policy development and economic growth, rather than being treated only as recipients of government empowerment programmes. The agenda has been presented as a broader plan for inclusive prosperity, with proposals targeting technology, creative industries, SMEs, agriculture and the blue economy.

He also criticised what he described as the tendency of the present Lagos administration to recycle the same set of political actors, arguing that such a system does not adequately reflect the aspirations and needs of the younger generation or deliver sufficient benefits to communities. According to the statement, Adeoye’s RESET Lagos vision seeks to introduce broader participation, merit, innovation and technology-driven governance. The campaign has also pointed to proposals capable of generating significant employment, including industrial and skills clusters, technology hubs and other initiatives, with its wider agenda targeting up to 1.5 million jobs over four years.

The LACO statement further appealed to Lagosians and Nigerians to participate actively in the democratic process and consider the APM at the polls, while stressing that “Your Vote Is Your Right.” It urged eligible voters to ensure they collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), with the campaign specifically reminding voters about the October 9 collection date. The organisation said the PVC remains an important instrument through which citizens can exercise their democratic choice and called on voters to remain engaged as preparations intensify for the 2027 elections.
