The campaign train of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji (KSA), has continued its grassroots engagements across Ibarapa East Local Government Area, with a comprehensive tour of communities in Eruwa and Lanlate.
The campaign and consultation tour covered the Bricklayers Association in New Eruwa, Ifedayo Community, Alayande Base, Low-Cost Housing in Eruwa, Orisunayo Community, Surulere Community in Lanlate and Olopoto Community, New Eruwa.
At the various locations, residents, community leaders, artisans, youth groups and other stakeholders gathered to receive the APM candidate and listen to his message on his plans for the constituency.
Addressing the gatherings, KSA expressed appreciation to the residents for what he described as their warm reception, loyalty and continued engagement with his campaign.
He said his aspiration to represent the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in the National Assembly was driven by a commitment to providing people-oriented representation and addressing challenges confronting communities across the constituency.
According to him, effective representation should go beyond promises, stressing the need for elected representatives to maintain direct contact with their constituents, identify pressing challenges and pursue practical solutions.
“True representation goes far beyond empty promises or paperwork; it is about direct engagement, identifying community challenges, and implementing sustainable solutions that touch lives meaningfully,” he said.
KSA also outlined areas he intends to prioritise if elected, including infrastructure, youth development, education, women and artisan empowerment, as well as inclusive representation.
On infrastructure, he pledged to advocate for improved basic amenities, sustainable water supply projects and other community-focused development initiatives.
He further promised to support youth and educational development through digital skills acquisition programmes, ICT training hubs, scholarship opportunities for indigent students and sports development initiatives.
For women and artisans, the APM candidate said he would pursue initiatives aimed at improving financial inclusion, cooperative support and specialised training to strengthen small businesses and local trades.
He also pledged to ensure that vulnerable groups, including elderly residents and Persons Living With Disabilities (PWDs), are given greater attention and representation in the constituency.
During the various interactive sessions, community leaders, trade representatives and residents expressed support for KSA’s candidacy, with some citing his philanthropic activities and community development efforts before seeking elective office.
Some of the stakeholders also commended his grassroots engagement and accessibility, saying these had enabled him to interact directly with residents and understand some of the challenges confronting them.
The campaign tour also provided an opportunity for the APM candidate and his team to strengthen engagements with community stakeholders and political groups across Eruwa and Lanlate.
The latest round of consultations forms part of KSA’s wider campaign activities ahead of the 2027 election, as political parties and candidates continue to intensify grassroots mobilisation across the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency.
