  • The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State has confirmed the emergence of Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek, popularly known as “SOLUTIONS,” and Mr Wahab Adeniyi as its governorship and deputy governorship candidates respectively for the 2027 election.

The party disclosed that the names of the two candidates had been successfully uploaded on the portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), bringing to an end issues surrounding its governorship candidature in the state.

The development was announced by a chieftain of the party, Hon Afees Jimoh Onaara, who described it as a significant step forward for the ADC ahead of the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.

Onaara, while congratulating Adegboyega Taofeek, called on members of the party to close ranks and work together for the success of the ADC.

He urged other aspirants who had sought the party’s governorship ticket to support the candidate, stressing that their contributions remained important to the collective strength of the party.

According to him, the conclusion of the candidature process should not create winners and losers within the party, but should rather provide an opportunity for reconciliation and renewed unity.

“This calls for a sober reflection, as all ADC well-meaning members in Oyo State are the winners. No victor, no vanquished,” he stated.

Onaara further appealed to party members and supporters across the state to rally behind the Adegboyega Taofeek–Wahab Adeniyi ticket as the party prepares for the 2027 political contest.

He expressed optimism that with unity, cooperation and commitment from members, the ADC would emerge stronger and make a significant impact in the Oyo 2027 governorship election.

He concluded with the Yoruba expression, “Ise ya, asejere laa se,” declaring that the party would “rise and shine” ahead of the election.
