The Director-General of the Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke Campaign Organisation, Adetayo Kesa, Esq., has congratulated the leadership, members and supporters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following the successful confirmation and listing of Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke as the party’s gubernatorial candidate for the forthcoming Oyo State Governorship Election on the platform of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Kesa described the development as a significant milestone for the ADC, particularly coming after legal and organisational challenges that had created uncertainty around the party and aspects of its leadership.

He said the confirmation should mark the beginning of a new chapter of unity, reconciliation and purposeful political engagement within the party.

The campaign director-general therefore appealed to all other governorship aspirants in the ADC, as well as their supporters, to put past disagreements and rancour behind them and join hands in the larger interest of the party and the people of Oyo State.

«“The contest is over; the larger assignment remains. Let us put the rancour behind us, reconcile and bring together the experience, ideas and goodwill of all our aspirants. No personal ambition should be greater than the collective interest of ADC and the people of Oyo State.”»

Kesa urged the party leadership and members to shift their attention to issues that directly affect the people, including economic development, employment generation, infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, security and accountable governance.

‘ADC READY TO COMPETE’

Addressing other political parties and candidates participating in the 2027 Oyo State governorship election, Kesa said the ADC respected the democratic process and every candidate in the race.

He, however, expressed confidence in the ADC platform and the credentials of its governorship candidate, Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke.

«“We are not entering this contest to make up the numbers. We are ready to compete. We believe that the combination of the ADC platform and the experience, personality, capacity and credentials of Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke will stand out.”»

Kesa further called on all ADC members, supporters and stakeholders to unite and work collectively towards the party’s success in the forthcoming election.

He said the latest development provided an opportunity for the party to close ranks, resolve outstanding differences and commence serious preparations for the campaign ahead.

“The era of rancour must give way to reconciliation, and the era of uncertainty must give way to purposeful preparation. ADC is ready for the task ahead.”
