The newly installed Akeweje of Agbo Dynasty, Ibadanland, Chief Asiwaju Yemi Yusuff, has pledged to deploy his wealth of experience, professional connections and leadership capacity to promote the growth, empowerment and unity of youths across the Agbo Dynasty.
Chief Yusuff made the commitment during his installation at the 2026 Ojude Ola Agbo Day celebration held under the leadership of the Baale of Agbo Dynasty, Chief Dhikirullahi Olagoke Olaonipekun.
Speaking shortly after receiving the chieftaincy title, the new Akeweje expressed gratitude to the Agbo Dynasty leadership for the confidence reposed in him and assured members of the community that he would work tirelessly to create opportunities for young people, encourage educational advancement, promote entrepreneurship and strengthen unity among all families within the dynasty.
According to him, the future of Agbo Dynasty lies in the hands of its youths, stressing that every available platform, partnership and connection would be explored to ensure that the younger generation reaches greater heights.
The event also witnessed the installation of other distinguished personalities into various chieftaincy positions, including Chief Muhammad Roufu Usman as Mayegun, Chief Maruff Alaba Adeyemi as Otun Bobajiroro, and Chief Hon. Sekinat Tolanikawo Akande Adelakun as Balogun Iyalode of Agbo Dynasty.
In their separate remarks, the newly installed chiefs appreciated the organisers of the event, particularly the Mogaji of Agbo Dynasty, Chief Tahiru Kolawole Oladipupo, for finding them worthy of the honours bestowed upon them.
They collectively pledged to use their respective offices to foster peace, development and progress within Agbo Dynasty and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of Ibadanland as a whole.
The chiefs further assured community members that they would work closely with the Baale, traditional title holders and other stakeholders to attract developmental projects, encourage youth participation in community affairs and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the dynasty.
The colourful Ojude Ola Agbo Day celebration attracted sons and daughters of Agbo Dynasty from within and outside Ibadan, serving as a platform for cultural display, community bonding and renewed commitment to the growth and prosperity of the dynasty.
The event ended with prayers for continued peace, progress and unity in Agbo Dynasty and throughout Ibadanland.
