A prominent socio-political support group, Seyi Makinde Disciples (SMD), has declared its readiness to mobilize over 50 million votes across Nigeria in support of the presidential ambition of Seyi Makinde under the platform of the Allied People’s Movement.

In a statement jointly signed by the group’s Convener, Prince Laja Adeoye, Lagos State Gubernatorial Candidate and Spokesman, Olusegun C.A. Taiwo (OCAT), the group described Governor Makinde’s presidential declaration as a long-awaited and highly anticipated development for Nigerians desirous of purposeful leadership and national rebirth.

The group stated that the declaration marks the beginning of a “Reset Nigeria Movement” aimed at restoring hope, strengthening governance, promoting economic prosperity, and rebuilding national unity across the country.

According to the statement, SMD believes that Governor Makinde possesses the leadership qualities, administrative competence, political courage, and people-oriented governance style needed to reposition Nigeria for greatness.

The group further noted that Nigerians across different regions, ethnic groups, and political affiliations have continued to express confidence in Makinde’s leadership style, especially considering his achievements in infrastructural development, education, healthcare, workers’ welfare, and economic reforms in Oyo State.

“Seyi Makinde’s declaration did not come as a surprise to millions of Nigerians who have consistently called on him to offer himself for higher national service. His emergence represents hope, competence, and a fresh direction for Nigeria,” the statement read.

SMD also commended the massive turnout recorded during the PDP-APM Unity Mega Rally held at Mapo Hall, describing the event as a strong indication that the Reset Nigeria Movement has already gained widespread acceptance among the people.

The group pledged to commence nationwide mobilization campaigns, grassroots engagements, youth sensitization programs, and strategic political consultations across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to ensure the success of Makinde’s presidential ambition.

“We are fully committed to mobilizing no fewer than 50 million votes across Nigeria for Governor Seyi Makinde. This movement transcends politics; it is about rescuing Nigeria and building a nation that works for all,” the statement added.

The group urged Nigerians, particularly youths, women, professionals, artisans, market leaders, and members of the diaspora community, to join hands with the Reset Nigeria Movement in the collective pursuit of a better Nigeria.
