National Indigenous Movement Nigeria Declares Support for Makinde’s Presidential Candidacy

The National Indigenous Movement, Nigeria (NIMN), has officially declared its unwavering support for the presidential candidacy of Oluseyi Makinde, describing him as a visionary leader with the competence, integrity, and progressive leadership capacity required to reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth and national development.

In a statement released by the Convener and National President of the movement, Amb. Lasisi Akinkunmi, the organization reaffirmed its commitment to promoting responsible governance, national unity, youth empowerment, accountability, and inclusive leadership across Nigeria.

According to the statement, the National Indigenous Movement, Nigeria was established as a people-driven movement committed to advocating for the welfare and advancement of indigenous Nigerians while championing policies and leadership capable of restoring hope and confidence in the nation’s democratic process.

“The National Indigenous Movement stands firmly for justice, equity, national development, youth inclusion, and the emergence of credible leadership that prioritizes the interests of the people above personal gains. Nigeria is at a critical stage where the nation requires a leader with proven administrative competence, economic understanding, and people-oriented governance,” the statement read.

The movement further highlighted the achievements and leadership qualities of Engr. Seyi Makinde, citing his track record in infrastructural development, education, healthcare, economic reforms, workers’ welfare, and transparency in governance as indicators of his readiness for higher national responsibility.

The organization noted that Governor Makinde’s leadership style reflects the aspirations of millions of Nigerians seeking a new direction anchored on accountability, innovation, and genuine service to the people.

“As a movement dedicated to national progress and the advancement of indigenous Nigerians, we strongly believe that Engr. Seyi Makinde possesses the leadership qualities, administrative experience, and patriotic vision necessary to move Nigeria forward. His achievements in governance have distinguished him as a symbol of responsible and progressive leadership,” the statement added.

The National Indigenous Movement, Nigeria also called on Nigerian youths, community leaders, civil society groups, and patriotic citizens across the country to unite in support of visionary leadership capable of rebuilding trust in governance and delivering meaningful development to the people.

The movement reiterated its resolve to continue mobilizing support, engaging citizens, and advocating for policies and leadership that will strengthen democracy, improve living standards, and secure a prosperous future for all Nigerians.
