
The Executive Chairman of Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Alhaji Abdulrahman Olanrewaju Adepoju, has extended his warmest felicitations to all civil servants, public service workers, and members of the organized private sector in Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Oyo State, and across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s International Workers’ Day.
According to the Council Chairman, Workers’ Day provides an opportunity to celebrate the resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions of the workforce toward the growth and development of society.
He stated:
“Workers remain the backbone of governance and nation-building. Your unwavering commitment, professionalism, and sacrifices continue to drive progress within our Local Government and across Oyo State.”
Alhaji Adepoju commended the steadfastness of workers, even in the face of challenges, as well as their determination to deliver quality service to the people.
He emphasized that his administration recognizes that a motivated and well-supported workforce is essential for effective service delivery. As such, the Local Government remains committed to improving workers’ welfare, promoting a conducive working environment, and ensuring that their rights and dignity are upheld at all times.
The Chairman reiterated that, at the Local Government level, efforts will continue to address the challenges faced by workers and enhance productivity. He added:
“We will continue to align with the State Government’s welfarism policies and ensure that the rights, dignity, and well-being of every worker in Ibadan Northwest are protected.”
Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman specially commended the administration of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, for his unwavering commitment to workers’ welfare. This, he noted, is evident in the prompt payment of salaries on the 25th of every month, compliance with the new minimum wage, and the regular payment of gratuities to retirees. He described the Governor as a rare gem whose leadership qualities are worthy of emulation.
As the nation marks this year’s Workers’ Day celebration, the Council Chairman urged all workers to continue to demonstrate diligence, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility in the discharge of their duties. He also encouraged unity and harmony in working towards a shared vision of sustainable development and prosperity for Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole.
He further called on all stakeholders to support policies and initiatives that promote workers’ welfare and enhance productivity at all levels.
