A Ward 7 Councillor in Ibadan NorthWest Local Government, Hon. Rilwan Ogun, has tendered a formal apology to leaders and stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), pledging renewed loyalty and commitment to party unity.

Ogun expressed “deep responsibility and humility” as he addressed what he described as recent actions that may have caused “concern, misunderstanding, or unintended discomfort” within the party structure.

The councillor specifically extended his apology to key figures in the party, including Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke; the Oyo State PDP Vice Chairman, Alhaji Lukman Adeshina; and the party’s Ex-officio in the state, Alhaji Rahman Adepoju. He also acknowledged the Executive Chairman of Ibadan NorthWest Local Government, Hon. Kazeem Fantola, alongside the council’s Chief of Staff and local PDP chairman.

Ogun further directed his apology to the Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Oluwagbemileke Nelson Gbadamosi, members of the legislative arm, and ward executives, with special mention of Hon. Akeem Ogun for his grassroots contributions to strengthening the party’s structure.

Taking full responsibility for his actions, the councillor emphasized that there was no intention to undermine the unity and discipline of the party. He described the PDP as a “progressive family” bound by collective purpose and reaffirmed his alignment with its guiding principles.

“I remain fully committed to the supremacy of our party and the leadership structures that guide our decisions,” Ogun stated, pledging to uphold values of respect, consultation, and collective responsibility in all future engagements.

He also called for understanding and forgiveness from party leaders and members, expressing readiness to work collaboratively toward the development of Ibadan NorthWest and the welfare of its constituents.

The apology comes amid ongoing efforts within the PDP to maintain internal cohesion and strengthen grassroots mobilization ahead of future political activities in Oyo State.
