Adedoja Ridwan Abiola, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Councillor representing Ward 10 in Ibadan South East Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a formal declaration released on Wednesday, Abiola expressed his readiness to serve the people with humility, responsibility, and a strong commitment to grassroots development. He described Ward 10 as a vibrant and diverse community deserving of purposeful and people-oriented leadership.
According to him, his decision to join the race is driven by a desire to empower residents and bring about meaningful change. “Leadership is not about power; it is about the ability to empower others and bring meaningful change to their lives,” he stated.
Abiola outlined a three-point agenda centered on opportunity, unity, and sustainability. He pledged to advocate for improved access to education, vocational training, and youth empowerment programmes through collaboration with local government authorities and relevant stakeholders.
On unity, the aspirant emphasized the need for inclusiveness and collective engagement, noting that progress can only be achieved when residents work together beyond political or social divides. He promised to create platforms that would encourage dialogue, mutual understanding, and community participation.
Addressing environmental concerns, Abiola also highlighted his commitment to promoting a cleaner and healthier environment through sustainable initiatives that would benefit both present and future generations.
He called on residents of Ward 10 to support his ambition, stressing that the realization of his vision would require collective effort, trust, and active involvement from the community.
“I pledge to be a councillor who listens with empathy, engages with sincerity, and acts with courage. I will remain accessible and ensure that the voices of our people are heard,” he assured.
Abiola further urged constituents to rise above divisions and unite in pursuit of shared prosperity and development, expressing optimism about building a stronger and more inclusive Ward 10.
