A prominent public servant and youth leader, ’Wale Ajani, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Oyo Central Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections under the platform of the Accord Party, setting the stage for what promises to be a competitive political contest in the state.
In a statement made available to 9ja News 24/7 personally, Ajani said his decision to enter the race is driven by a deep-rooted commitment to public service, leadership, and grassroots development. He emphasized that his wealth of experience across various levels of governance has adequately prepared him to offer effective and people-oriented representation at the National Assembly.
Ajani, who previously served as the Director General of the Oyo State Liaison Office in Abuja and Lagos, highlighted his track record in public administration, noting that his tenure was widely regarded as impactful and service-driven. He also recalled his time as National President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), where his leadership earned him recognition as President Emeritus due to his enduring contributions to youth development nationwide.
Further strengthening his credentials, Ajani pointed to his participation in the 2014 National Conference, where he contributed to key national discussions bordering on governance, unity, and Nigeria’s future. According to him, these cumulative experiences have shaped his understanding of leadership and reinforced his belief that Oyo Central deserves credible, experienced, and responsive representation.
