A governorship hopeful of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK), has declared that his political ambition ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election is rooted in ideas, vision, and practical solutions rather than personal attacks or political hostility.
Speaking during an interview on Petals FM 102.3, Dr. Kareem emphasized that leadership should be about presenting credible and workable alternatives capable of transforming the lives of citizens.
According to him, the responsibility of any serious contender is to clearly articulate what he intends to do differently and how his approach will improve governance for the overall benefit of the people.
“My intention is not to abuse anyone. My mission is to advocate for the best, enlighten our people, and create sustained awareness about what their lives truly deserve,” he said.
The APC chieftain noted that the people of Oyo State are discerning and capable of making informed political decisions. However, he acknowledged that prevailing economic hardship, particularly poverty, sometimes makes it difficult for citizens to act in alignment with their long-term interests.
He stressed that continuous engagement and public enlightenment would remain central to his campaign strategy as the 2027 race approaches.
Dr. Kareem further disclosed that his campaign would focus on clear policy alternatives centered on economic empowerment, quality education, improved security, and people-oriented governance. He maintained that consistently marketing a superior blueprint for development is more productive than engaging in political mudslinging.
Responding to a question on whether he was concerned about possible threats from political opponents, the gubernatorial aspirant expressed unwavering faith.
“I am a man of God and I walk in His fear. My trust is in God,” he stated.
Reaffirming his commitment to service and integrity, Dr. Kareem said his ambition is anchored on enlightenment and the pursuit of a higher quality of life for every resident of the state.
He added that his focus remains on building a better future for the people as the 2027 governorship election draws closer, insisting that his campaign would be driven by constructive engagement rather than attacks on opponents.
