A hopeful for the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan SouthWest State Constituency I, Engr. Rasaq Olaide Oyebamiji, has extended warm greetings to Muslims and Christians as they observe the sacred seasons of Ramadan and Lent in 2026.
In a goodwill message released to commemorate the dual spiritual periods, Oyebamiji described Ramadan and Lent as significant moments of deep reflection, sacrifice, compassion, and renewed commitment to faith and humanity.
He noted that both seasons, though rooted in different religious traditions, share common values of self-discipline, prayer, charity, and love for one another. According to him, the spiritual exercises associated with fasting and devotion provide an opportunity for individuals and communities to reassess their lives and strengthen bonds of unity.
“As we observe this sacred season of Ramadan and Lent, may our prayers be accepted, our sacrifices rewarded, and our hearts strengthened,” he stated. “May the Almighty renew our faith, restore our hope, and bless Ibadan SouthWest Constituency I and Oyo State with lasting peace, progress, and prosperity.”
The lawmaker hopeful emphasized the need for religious harmony in Oyo State, urging residents to use the period to promote peaceful coexistence and collective development across communities.
He further called on constituents to embrace acts of kindness, extend support to the less privileged, and foster an atmosphere of understanding that transcends religious and political differences.
Oyebamiji reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive representation and people-centered leadership, stressing that unity remains essential for sustainable growth and a greater tomorrow for Ibadan SouthWest and Oyo State at large.
