As Oyo State marks its golden jubilee, Hon. Michael Olusegun Aremu (MOA), a distinguished chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a grassroots-driven hopeful for Ibadan North State Constituency II in the Oyo State House of Assembly, has described the celebration as a magnificent, inspiring, and glorious milestone in the history of the Pace Setter State.
Hon. MOA, in his goodwill message, hailed the 50th anniversary as a wonderful testament to resilience, unity, and remarkable progress, noting that Oyo State has grown into a symbol of stability, innovation, and purposeful leadership since its creation in 1976. According to him, the journey of the state over the last five decades reflects a splendid story of transformation, courage, and collective determination of its people.
He commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his visionary, pragmatic, and people-oriented leadership, which he said has further repositioned Oyo State on the path of sustainable development. Hon. Aremu praised the governor’s achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agribusiness, security, and economic expansion, describing them as outstanding, bold, and truly commendable.
“Oyo @ 50 is not just a celebration of years, but a celebration of a wonderful heritage of excellence and hope. Under the purposeful leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, our state has witnessed unprecedented development that touches the lives of ordinary citizens and empowers the future generation,” Hon. MOA stated.
The PDP chieftain also congratulated the people of Ibadan North, particularly those in Ibadan North State Constituency II, for their steadfast support, unity, and progressive spirit. He described them as industrious, courageous, and forward-looking citizens who continue to uphold the legacy of Oyo State as the Pace Setter in all ramifications.
Hon. MOA reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development, promising dynamic, transparent, and people-centered representation if given the opportunity to serve in the Oyo State House of Assembly. He emphasized that his aspiration is driven by a deep desire to contribute to a brighter, stronger, and more prosperous Ibadan North, in line with the developmental strides being recorded across the state.
