The political tide is turning, and Oke-Ogun Zone is strategically positioned to produce the next Governor of Oyo State in 2027.
With the ongoing consultations and alignments being championed by progressive groups such as Egbe Ajoosepo fun Itesiwaju Gbogbo Wa, Awa Group, and the G22, an umbrella body committed to equitable power rotation, the long-awaited liberation of other zones is gradually becoming a reality.
The emerging arrangement recognises a simple truth:
Oke-Ogun governorship aspirants are just as qualified, competent, and prepared as their Ibadan counterparts. Capacity is not exclusive to one zone.
The G22 power-rotation framework clearly outlines a fair sequence:
• Oke-Ogun
• Oyo
• Ogbomoso
• Ibarapa
Then a return to Ibadan
This is not an attack on Ibadan. Rather, it is a call for balance, inclusion, and justice.
