As the curtain rises on New Year 2026, Hon. (Chief) Akindipe Hammed Abiodun Akinsunbo {MPA}, the Supervisory Councillor for Works in Ibadan NorthWest Local Government and a respected grassroots leader fondly known as Igba-Otun, has extended warm New Year greetings to the people of Ibadan NorthWest, Oyo State and Nigerians at large, while paying glowing tributes to leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the state.
In his New Year message, Hon. Akinsunbo saluted the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde FNSE, describing him as a visionary, courageous and people-oriented leader whose steadfast commitment to good governance continues to place Oyo State on a path of sustainable development and renewed hope.
The Ibadan NorthWest Works Supervisor also commended the Executive Chairman of Ibadan NorthWest Local Government, Alhaji Rahman Adepoju, applauding his inclusive leadership style, administrative discipline and unwavering dedication to grassroots development, which he said has strengthened governance and improved the quality of life of residents at the local level.
Hon. Akinsunbo further extended special salutations to Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, Oyo State PDP Vice Chairman, lauding his political sagacity, loyalty to party ideals and tireless efforts in fostering unity and cohesion within the party structure across the state.
He equally acknowledged and appreciated other PDP stakeholders in Ibadan NorthWest and across Oyo State, describing them as the pillars and backbone of the party, whose sacrifices, commitment and resilience have continued to sustain the PDP as a formidable political family.
According to Hon. Akinsunbo, New Year 2026 presents a renewed opportunity for deeper unity, stronger collaboration and collective resolve in advancing the ideals of good governance, responsive leadership and people-centred development.
He expressed optimism that, under the purposeful leadership of Governor Makinde and the synergy among party leaders and stakeholders, Oyo State will witness greater infrastructural growth, social stability and economic empowerment in the year ahead.
Hon. Akinsunbo concluded by wishing Governor Makinde, party leaders, PDP members and the entire people of Oyo State a prosperous, peaceful and fulfilling New Year 2026, praying that the year brings abundant blessings, progress and enduring unity for all.
