The Association of Nigerian Broadcasters (ANBROAD) has placed its Oyo State Governor, Dr Opeyemi Ayanrinde, popularly known as MC Swagger, on a three-month suspension following the resolution of its Peace Making Panel.
The decision was reached at a meeting of the panel held on Monday, December 15, 2025, and chaired by the ANBROAD President, Alhaji AbdGany AbdRasaq, to review a vote of no confidence and suspension letter earlier filed against the governor.
According to the resolutions, the panel found the six allegations raised against MC Swagger to be credible and sufficient to warrant disciplinary action.
However, the panel declared the suspension letter null and void on the grounds that three executive members who signed it lacked the moral justification to do so.
As a result, the three concerned executive officers were directed to individually write formal letters of apology for their roles in the matter, to be submitted within one month.
The resolutions were jointly adopted by the panel members, including the ANBROAD President, Dr Yetunde Aishida, Olori Yetunde Badmus, members of the Board of Trustees in Oyo State, Mogaji Kola Akintayo, Asiwaju Wale Lawal, and Alhaji Hamzat Alomilamu.
The suspension, which took immediate effect, is scheduled to run from December 15, 2025 to March 15, 2026.
