Oyo State Government through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion has reaffirmed its support for initiatives that will promote development, peace, security and sustainable development for the benefit of law abiding citizens of Oyo State.
This was among the submissions of the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Hon Mrs Toyin Balogun, on Monday 1st December during a courtesy cum advocacy visit to her ministry from the Officers and spouses of Federal Road Safety Officers Wives Association(ROSAWA) at her Agodi Secretariat Ibadan office
The Honourable Commissioner expressed the readiness of the State Government through her ministry to collaborate effectively with the Association and others like it in the areas of capacity building, vocational and skills acquisition training and other empowerment programs in line with the Ministry’s mandate for Poverty Alleviation and Women’s Economic Empowerment that members of the association and other vulnerable citizens can benefit from. She also promised that based on the appeal of the State Director of the FRSC, the association and its members will be incorporated into all requisite programs and interventions of the Ministry.
Earlier in her remark, Oyo State Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps, Commander Rosemary Alo, ably represented by Deputy Corp Commander (DCC) Florence Alade said the purpose of their visit is two fold: To build and strengthen the collaboration between the Ministry of Women Affairs & Social Inclusion and the Federal Road Safety Corps Association and also to explore areas where efforts and cooperations can be harmonised for greater impact.
The Honourable Commissioner and her team comprising the Permanent Secretary; Dr Foluke Ibitoye and other Directors welcomed the association and both entities gave a commitment to forge an impactful collaboration going forward for the benefit of the vulnerable demographics of the state which both State Institutions have a mandate to cater to.
