
The Igbo Community/Non Indigenes in Oyo State through Hon. Tallest Innocent, the Senior Special Assistant to The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde on Community Relations, joined dignitaries, traditional rulers, political leaders, well-wishers and Oyo State in general at Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo town, to celebrate the 50th birthday of the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Ikubaba yeye, Oba Abimbola Owoade.
In his goodwill message at the colourful celebration, Hon. Tallest Innocent congratulated the Alaafin for clocking 50 in good health and high esteem. He described the golden jubilee of the revered monarch as a significant milestone in the history of the ancient Oyo Kingdom, adding that the new Alaafin has already shown signs of purpose-driven leadership.
He prayed for divine wisdom of God to guide the monarch in his reign.
“Your Imperial Majesty, we the Igbo Community/Non Indigenes join millions across Yorubaland and beyond to congratulate you on your 50th birthday. As you ascend the sacred throne of your ancestors, may God grant you uncommon wisdom, good health, strength, and foresight to lead Oyo Kingdom to greater heights. May this new chapter of your life be crowned with God’s grace and wisdom. May your throne be a source of positive transformation not only for Oyo town but for the entire Oyo State, Nigeria and beyond. May it bring peace, unity, cultural revival, and unprecedented development to Oyo town, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large,” Tallest said.
Tallest reaffirmed the commitment of the Igbo Community/Non Indigenes to continue supporting the government of Oyo State led by Engr. Seyi Makinde (The World Best) who has given us an enabling playing ground, the traditional institutions in the state and working collaboratively with the Alaafin and other royal fathers to foster grassroots development and preserve the customs and traditions of the land.
The event was graced by royal fathers, government officials, members of the Oyo Mesi, lawmakers, political stakeholders, the Igbos/non indigenes and citizens from across the state and beyond.
