Mayegun  Babanumi Mourns Passing of Olubadan, Oba   Olakulehin

Federal House of Representatives hopeful for Ibadan North West and Ibadan South West Federal Constituency, Mayegun Sunday Olusegun Babanumi, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Oyo State following the passing of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, Ige I.

In his condolence message, Babanumi expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the revered monarch, describing his reign as one marked by peace, unity, and meaningful development across Ibadanland and Oyo State at large.

“I join His Excellency, Engineer Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State; the Oyo State Traditional Council; the President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Barrister Ajeniyi Ajewole, along with his executive council; all affiliate clubs under CCII; and the entire Ibadan indigenes in mourning the loss of our father,” Babanumi stated.

He further noted that Oba Olakulehin’s leadership inspired harmony and progress, and called on all Ibadan sons and daughters to continue upholding the legacy of the late monarch.

“May God grant the royal family, the people of Ibadan, and Oyo State the strength to bear this irreparable loss. May His Imperial Majesty’s soul rest in perfect peace,” he concluded.

Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin ascended the throne as the Olubadan of Ibadanland and was widely respected for his wisdom, humility, and dedication to the advancement of his people. His passing marks the end of a remarkable era in the traditional history of Ibadan.
