As Muslims across the globe usher in the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1447 AH, the Supervisory Councillor for Works in Ibadan North-West Local Government, Hon. Akindipe Hammed Abiodun Akinsunbo, fondly known as Igba-Otun, has extended heartfelt felicitations to Muslim faithful within and beyond Oyo State.
In his message, Hon. Akinsunbo highlighted the significance of Hijrah as a symbol of resilience, spiritual rebirth, and the pursuit of peace. He urged the Muslim community to reflect on the lessons of Prophet Muhammad’s migration and apply its values of patience, unity, and faith in their daily lives.
“Hijrah is a journey of purpose, strength, and divine guidance. As we mark the beginning of 1447 AH, let us renew our commitment to peaceful coexistence, communal development, and unwavering faith in God,” he stated.
Hon. Akinsunbo, who also holds the esteemed traditional title of Mayegun of Eleyele/Arometa, took the opportunity to send his warm greetings to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, appreciating his consistent dedication to inclusive governance and religious harmony.
He also extended his salutations to Alhaji Rahman Adepoju, Executive Chairman of Ibadan NorthWest Local Government; Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, PDP State Secretary; and to all residents and political stakeholders across Ibadan NorthWest and Oyo State.
He reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development, particularly in the area of infrastructure and public works, emphasizing that peace and progress go hand-in-hand.
“As we begin this sacred year, may Almighty Allah grant us peace, prosperity, and continued blessings. Let us remain united and focused on building a stronger and more inclusive community from our performing Governor Engr Seyi Makinde and Chairman Alhaji Rahman Adepoju,” Akinsunbo concluded.
