As the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1447, begins, a prominent chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and aspirant for the Federal House of Representatives, Ibadan NorthWest/SouthWest Federal Constituency, Kehinde Giwa, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across Oyo State and beyond.

In a message titled “Hijrah 1447: A Journey to Resilience and Peace”, Giwa described the Islamic New Year as a moment for deep reflection, spiritual rejuvenation, and renewed commitment to values that promote peace, tolerance, and community development.

He specifically congratulated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, for his unwavering commitment to religious harmony and inclusive governance in the state. Giwa also extended his greetings to Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, the State PDP Secretary; Alhaji Rahman Adepoju, Executive Chairman of Ibadan NorthWest Local Government; and other key political stakeholders for their leadership and dedication to the advancement of Oyo State.

“Hijrah is not just a historical migration; it is a timeless reminder of courage, faith, and perseverance in the face of trials. At a time like this, our unity, resilience, and shared vision for a better society must be rekindled,” Giwa stated.

He further urged residents of Oyo State to use the occasion to pray for peace in Nigeria, support good governance, and continue to uphold the values of love, sacrifice, and service that define true leadership.

Kehinde Giwa reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Ibadan NorthWest/SouthWest Federal Constituency, promising to be a voice for the people and a strong advocate of progressive policies that reflect the yearnings of the masses.

“As we mark Hijrah 1447, may it usher in a new era of peace, prosperity, and collective progress for all,” he concluded.
