HAPPY DEMOCRACY DAY!
On this auspicious occasion of Democracy Day, June 12th, as Nigeria commemorates 26 years of uninterrupted democratic governance, I, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, extend heartfelt felicitations to the good people of Oyo State and all Nigerians.
This day presents an opportunity to reflect on our democratic journey and celebrate the remarkable progress we have made—particularly under the purposeful and people-focused leadership of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde.
Governor Makinde’s administration has remained steadfast in its commitment to the well-being and upliftment of every resident of Oyo State. Through deliberate policies and strategic investments, the state has recorded tangible achievements across key sectors:
Education: Improved school infrastructure, robust teacher recruitment, and expanded access to quality education.
Healthcare: Revamped Primary Healthcare Centres and increased accessibility to affordable, quality health services.
Infrastructure: Massive road construction and rehabilitation projects that connect communities and stimulate economic growth.
Security: Strengthening of the security architecture, including the effective operation of the Amotekun Corps, to ensure peace and safety.
Economic Development: Strategic investments in agribusiness, support for local enterprises, and initiatives that drive inclusive economic growth.
These accomplishments are the hallmarks of a responsive, responsible, and people-oriented government.
