“The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.” Winston Churchill

Hon. Adeola Dele , Member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju State Constituency, joins millions of patriotic Nigerians at home and abroad to celebrate the essence, evolution, and endurance of our democracy on this memorable June 12 Democracy Day.

Today is far more than a date on the calendar; it is a reflection of our journey from the shadows of dictatorship to the light of self-determination. It is a reminder of the sacrifices of patriots who gave their all so that our voices could matter, our votes could count, and our future could be determined by collective will.

As a people, we have weathered storms, overcome trials, and stood tall in defense of democratic ideals. Our democracy may not be perfect, but it remains our most potent platform for progress, peace, and people driven leadership. It is the will of the people that sustains the flame of freedom and fuels the engine of governance.

On this occasion, we remember the heroes and heroines known and unknown whose relentless courage birthed this democratic dispensation. Their labor was not in vain, and we owe it to them and the next generation to deepen this legacy through active participation, vigilance, and the pursuit of justice.

Let us not forget that democracy is not a spectator sport. It thrives when the electorate is informed, involved, and intentional. Every vote is a voice. Every citizen is a stakeholder. And every action we take to demand good governance and accountability is a step toward the Nigeria we all deserve.

As your representative, I remain committed to promoting policies and initiatives that reflect the true aspirations of our people. Your trust is my strength, and your welfare is my priority. Together, we must continue to build a Nigeria where peace, equity, opportunity, and prosperity are not privileges but rights for all.

Let Democracy Day be a call not just to celebrate but to reawaken our duty as citizens. Let it remind us that our unity is our power, our diversity is our wealth, and our future is what we choose to make of it.

Happy Democracy Day, Nigeria.
May our democracy continue to grow stronger.
May our voices always matter.
And may our nation forever rise above.

God bless Iseyin, God bless Itesiwaju, God bless Oyo State, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Signed
Hon. Dele Adeola
Member, Oyo State House of Assembly
Representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju State Constituency
