Under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde in six years, Oyo State has undergone a remarkable transformation. Gone are the days of promises and traditional politics; instead, the Governor has emerged as a progressive force, embracing the business community, agribusiness, conducive environment; security wise, healthy life; health wise, subsidised transport, accessible education as vital partners in shaping Oyo State’s economy and future.
This shift towards inclusivity and economic empowerment is evident in the Engr. Seyi’s policies and actions. Recognizing the business sector’s crucial role in driving growth and development, Governor Makinde has and still fostering an environment conducive to investment, innovation, and job creation.
As I have aptly stated in my previous write up, national sovereignty and economic liberation are intertwined. The business community is no longer seen as a bystander but as a key stakeholder in Oyo State’s destiny.
This progressive approach is instrumental in driving Oyo State towards its rightful place as the Pace Setter State. Engr. Seyi Makinde understands that working together with a vision, government and business can unlock the State/country’s vast potential, stimulate economic growth, and improve the lives of all Citizens.
Oyo State’s evolution under Governor Makinde’s leadership style (Accelerated development, Omituntun 1.0 and Sustainable Development, Omituntun 2.0) demonstrates its commitment to development, empowerment, and inclusive governance. As the state moves forward, it’s clear that the governor’s mantra, “The State is built by its people”, will continue to guide its actions.
