
Igbo Community/Non Indigenes in Oyo State has extended heartfelt congratulations to Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, “The World Best”, on the occasion of his sixth anniversary in office.
In a goodwill message, Hon. Tallest Innocent praised Governor Makinde for his visionary leadership, ingenuity, and unwavering commitment to the holistic development of Oyo State. He noted that the inclusive administration’s efforts have led to remarkable progress in key sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, security the economy—transformations that have had a meaningful impact on the lives of inhabitants.
The Senior Special Assistant to The Executive Governor of Oyo State on Community Relations on behalf of the Igbo Community/Non Indigenes, offered prayers for the governor, expressing confidence that the remaining years of his tenure would be even more fruitful, impactful, and glorious.
According to Tallest, Makinde’s administration has been truly impactful, transforming the lives of Oyo State residents, adding that with his unwavering commitment to the state’s progress, Makinde is poised to leave a lasting impact on Oyo State’s history as the best governor.
Hon. Tallest, a notable grassroots mobilizer said Makinde’s administration has not only prioritized good governance but also shown uncommon foresight in policies that will continue to benefit generations to come in Oyo State and beyond.
“Governor Makinde has changed the narrative of governance in Oyo State and Nigeria in general. From road construction that connects rural to urban communities, to investment in quality education, digitization of public services, and improved access to healthcare, a prompt security intervention all over the state, engineering of a system that will serve as a launching pad.
For instance, close to 458.43km Road which includes 65km Moniya, Ijaye Iseyin Road, 34.85km Oyo to Iseyin, 38.48km Adebayo Alao Akala Road etc, his investment in security that have brought prosperity to Oyo State, the Light-Up Oyo initiative, the revamp of public schools under the Education Intervention Project with free education, resuscitation of Oyo State farm settlements and agribusiness, upgrade of Ibadan Airport to international standard, Ibadan Circular Road, the ongoing development of the Ibadan Dry Port, rail corridor, world class bus terminals, upgrade of Adamasingba stadium, sport and above all, the sincere and sustainable budgeting as examples of Governor Makinde’s commitment to modernizing the state.
“Makinde’s governance style is inclusive and data-driven. His efforts in bridging the urban-rural development gap and empowering local governments have been commendable.
As a good public administrator and a political analyst, I saw firsthand how his policies enhanced local administration.
Tallest charged politicians and residents alike to support the governor’s vision through constructive engagement and continuity of progressive policies regardless of political affiliation, stressing that Oyo State belongs to all. Noting that anyone antagonistic to Makinde’s policies in pursuing personal gains as the 2027 election season approaches.
Tallest advised that we should not undermind all the governor’s efforts and the importance of leadership continuity and warned against reversing the progress already achieved under Makinde.
“What we have today in Oyo is the result of good foresight and deliberate planning with effective execution. Makinde has done well and still serving his second and final term as if it was his first term, consistently maintained that his administration is focused on building a future-ready Oyo State anchored on good governance, economic expansion, and human capital development.
Makinde’s administration with his inclusive governance style, particularly for creating opportunities for everyone both indigenes and non indigenes, local contractors to contribute to the state’s development projects in his government is a milestone achievement and something nobody especially the Igbos/non indigenes will forget, Tallest concluded.
