As Oyo State marks six years of purposeful leadership under Governor Seyi Makinde, tributes have continued to pour in from key stakeholders across the state.  Chief Akindipe Hammed Abiodun Akinsunbo, popularly known as Igba-Otun, has commended the governor for what he described as “unprecedented transformational leadership.”

In a goodwill message released earlier today, Chief Akinsunbo, who serves as the Supervisory Councillor for Works in Ibadan North-West Local Government, and also holds the prestigious traditional title of Mayegun of Eleyele/Arometa, extolled Governor Makinde’s sterling achievements across critical sectors of the state’s economy.

“Governor Makinde has redefined governance in Oyo State,” Akinsunbo stated.

“From infrastructure to education, healthcare, and youth empowerment, his policies are people-driven, results-oriented, and anchored on transparency and fiscal prudence.”

He specifically highlighted ongoing road rehabilitation projects, improvements in public schools, and the prioritization of workers’ welfare as hallmark accomplishments that have distinguished Makinde’s administration over the past six years.

As Supervisory Councillor for Works, Chief Akinsunbo noted that Governor Makinde’s support for local governments has enabled grassroots projects to thrive, with strategic interventions in road construction, rural electrification, and water provision.

“The governor’s commitment to local governance has allowed us to meet the pressing needs of our communities. we all are direct beneficiaries of this visionary leadership,” he added.

Chief Akinsunbo also praised the inclusive nature of the Makinde-led government, which he said has opened the political space for young people, professionals, and traditional leaders to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.

The chieftain further reaffirmed his support for the governor, stating that Makinde’s legacy will be remembered for “building a new Oyo State where prosperity, justice, and dignity are restored to the people.”

As Oyo State celebrates six years of progressive governance, voices like Chief Akinsunbo’s add to a growing consensus that Governor Makinde’s administration has set a new standard for leadership in the South-West and across Nigeria.
