Hon. Tallest, The Senior Special Assistant to The Executive Governor of Oyo State, HE Engr. Seyi Makinde on Community Relation has sympathised with the families of those who lost their lives, the injured, and their properties in the explosions that rocked Bodija Estate, Ibadan, yesterday, 16th January 2024
In a statement personally signed and released in Ibadan this afternoon, Tallest was deeply saddened by the loss of lives and the devastation caused by this unfortunate incident, praying that God should prevent this kind of incidence.
He called for calm and utmost cooperation with the first responders and the State Government as they bring the situation to normalcy as Engr. Seyi Makinde in her usual quick response, has assured that security service chiefs including para-military chiefs and Fire Operatives have been deployed to Reign in the spillover from the explosion.
Tallest, who without messing words, characterized the development as very unfortunate, distressing, and painful, took a moment to praise the swift response of Governor Seyi Makinde in his bid to mitigate the effects of this unfortunate incident. The prompt intervention in addressing the matter and providing support and relief to those affected by it was superb and the fast steps have undoubtedly alleviated people’s anxieties and mitigated the immediate impact of the unfortunate tragedy in the surrounding areas
Tallest also emphasised on the need for urgent support and assistance for the affected families during this difficult time by all and sundry.
He pleaded on relevant government agencies, emergency responders, our senators, Rep members and community leaders to collaborate in providing immediate relief and necessary resources to the victims and their families.
He urged everyone to prioritise safety and remain vigilant. He also charged Citizens to speak up when they see something to prevent any further tragedies like this in the future.
