The GSMists, a prominent socio-political movement in Oyo State, have expressed their heartfelt condolences to Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju (Ibarapakan), the Honourable Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency in the 10th National Assembly and Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character, over the passing of his beloved father, Pa (Dr.) Amos Ademola Adepoju.
Pa Adepoju, who transitioned to glory on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the age of 89, was a distinguished academic, administrator, and community leader whose contributions to education, governance, and grassroots development have left indelible marks across Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the state coordinator Prince Tella Oluyinka through their publicity relations officer, Moyosoreoluwa Olamilekan Eldreez, The GSMists described the late octogenarian as “a father to many, a pillar of wisdom, and a torchbearer of selfless service whose life was wholly devoted to humanity.”
“Pa (Dr.) Amos Adepoju was not only a renowned academic and administrator but also a true Asiwaju of Igboora Land, whose commitment to community development will continue to inspire generations. His passing is indeed a great loss, not only to the Adepoju family but to Ibarapa Land, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole,” the statement read.
The GSMists further prayed for the repose of the departed patriarch’s soul and asked God to grant Hon. (Dr.) Adebayo Adepoju and the entire Adepoju family the strength and comfort to bear this irreplaceable loss.
“May the Almighty grant eternal rest to Pa Adepoju and uphold the family he has left behind,” the group concluded.
Signed:
