Today, the world comes together to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD), a global movement that honors the achievements of women and advocates for gender equality. This year’s theme, “Accelerate Action,” emphasizes the urgent need to speed up progress toward gender equality.
A Non-Governmental Organisation, Community Life Innovation and Connect Initiative (CLIC Initiative), is joining forces with individuals, organizations, and governments worldwide to accelerate action for gender equality. The organization recognizes that gender equality is critical for achieving sustainable development and promoting human rights.
“Accelerate Action” is a call to action that encourages everyone to take meaningful and measurable steps toward gender equality. This includes advancing women’s and girls’ rights, challenging discrimination and violence, promoting gender equality by dismantling barriers and elevating marginalized voices, and fostering empowerment through inclusive access to education, employment, and leadership.¹
According to the World Economic Forum, it will take until 2158 to reach full gender parity at the current rate of progress. This highlights the need for urgent action to address the systemic barriers and biases that women face.
On this International Women’s Day, CLIC Initiative is committed to working toward a future where women and girls are not only included but are at the forefront of building resilient, sustainable, and equitable communities.
“Together, let’s accelerate action for gender equality and create a brighter future for all.”
