In a thrilling showdown at the Ibadan NorthWest Stadium, Attitude FC emerged victorious over Diamond Star FC, securing a spot as the winner of the Ibadan North-West Super League 2024. The match, held on Sunday, October 6, saw Attitude FC dominate the pitch with a commanding 5 – 4 victory, achieved through penalty shout-out.
The Super League, hosted by the NFCA Ibadan North-West Local Government and sponsored by the Executive Chairman of Ibadan NorthWest Local Government, Alhaji AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju and the Founder of Bibire People’s Vision Association, Hon Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire, aims to promote grassroots football and provide a platform for local talent to shine.
Adepoju who was represented by the supervisory councillor for sport, Hon Wasiu Sulaimon p.k.a (Okababa) expressed pride in the initiative, stating, “this initiative is to harness the passion for football in our community and create opportunities for our youth” while presenting cash prizes to the winning teams.
Much excitement builds as Hon Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire as sponsorship provided Sport jersey to all participating teams for the final match.
The match drew a crowd of enthusiastic supporters and distinguished guests, including Coach Akinola Olatunji; NFCA Chairman Oyo State Chapter, Coach Ayo Adeyemo; NFCA Training Officer OYO state Chapter, Elder Coach Abiodun Famoriyo NFCA Grassroots Developmental Units, Coach Taiwo Wahab Oloke; Ibadan NorthWest Local Government, Elder and NFCA FINANCIAL SECRETARY OYO STATE Chapter, Coach Gbemileke Abosede, NFCA Ibadan NorthWest Leader, Political Functionaries; Supervisory Councillor for Health Hon Olumuyiwa Rale, Special Assistants Muideen Gbadamosi, Ward 3 Councillor Asiwaju among others
The event was expertly commented on by sports analyst Cantona of Success 105.3 FM, whose insightful observations kept the audience engaged throughout the match and media coverage by Classic Sportview.
The successful organization of the Super League was overseen by a dedicated planning committee chaired by Odelabi Oluwaseyi Joel.
The spectators and wide audience were further thrilled by the football academic sponsorship awards by Hon Femi Emmanuel, MD/CEO of Femcity Vocational & Education Consultancy An Affiliate City Polytechnic Abuja) to teams of Attitude FC, Diamond Star FC and The Stone boys FA which is the third place owner.
