The Deputy National Chairman South of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja has commended the giant stride of the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde on the commissioning of the 12.5km Challenge – Odo-Ona Elewe – Elebu – Apata dualised road project.

Ambassador Arapaja gave the commendation while speaking with journalists shortly after the road was commissioned by the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah this afternoon.

Arapaja who stated that road infrastructure is one of the major prerequisites for wooing investors into any state, noted that Governor Makinde has further demonstrated his determination to make life easy for the citizenry through completion of all abandoned projects inherited from the previous administrations.

Arapaja recalled that the construction of the said popular Akala express road was commenced by his late boss, Adebayo Alao Akala; it was abandoned by Akala’s successor for eight years before Governor Makinde took it up and completed it.

Arapaja further noted that the New Garage Odo Ona Elewe which spreads to Apata road that was commissioned today has brought a big relief to the residents and commuters alike because it will lead to decongestion of Apata – Dugbe road that is always a nightmare.

Arapaja, equally appreciated the Governor for announcing the extension of wage award to the State workforce for another six months, stressing that the gesture will cushion the effect of hardships that the people especially the workforce are facing at this moment in the nation.

Arapaja however, called on the people of the state to reciprocate the gesture of the Governor by continuing to give him maximum support and prayer in his continued determination to improve the standard of living of the people, and development of the State.
