

The Akinyele Local Government Legislative Arm, under the Leadership of Hon. Olufemi Michael Adeleke, from Ward 1 has joined voice on the economic hardness in the country and appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and chairmen of local government areas.
Honourable Shina Adediji Gboyega, the majority leader of the house from ward 10 raised the issues on public interest and Akinyele Local Government which involved mainly the condition of Ad-hoc staff as well as palliatives to cushion effect of economic hardness, during plenary held Thursday 15th February, 2024.
Hon. Femi Adeleke eulogizes the performance of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde (FNSE) on his dynamic Leadership style for being proactive to any programme that can better the life of citizens of Oyo State and to boost our economy through different laudable programmes targeted at reducing unwarranted behavior and unemployment rate with the state.


The House leader further stressed that the Akinyele Legislative Arm aligned itself with the Resolution of the Oyo State House of Assembly by calling on the state government to expedite action on the upward review of stipend being paid to the Ad-hoc staff engaged by all the Thirty-three (33) Local Government and Thirty-five (35) Local Council Development Areas in the state due to inflation in the commodities at market and employment opportunity should be given to at least eighty percent 80% of them into permanent appointment of the Local Government.
The House then urged the Executive Chairman of Local Government in Oyo State to liaise with appropriate authorities in that regard for the issues concerning the adhoc staff at their respective areas.
The House further appealed to the state government led by Governor Seyi Makinde to extend the gesture of palliatives and wage awards to the political office holders at the local government level as been enjoyed by the state civil servants, stating the governor has a good leader who is more concerned about the welfare of everyone.
