In commemoration of the second anniversary of the 10th Oyo State House of Assembly, the Supervisory Councillor for Works in Ibadan NorthWest Local Government, Hon. Akindipe Hammed Abiodun Akinsunbo, popularly known as Igba-Otun, has lauded the achievements of Governor Seyi Makinde and Speaker Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin for their visionary leadership and developmental strides across the state.
Hon. Akinsunbo, who also holds the prestigious traditional title of Mayegun of Eleyele/Arometa highlighted the synergy between the Executive and Legislative arms of government as the driving force behind the visible transformation in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment.
“The past two years of the 10th Assembly under the stewardship of Speaker Ogundoyin have been nothing short of remarkable. His collaborative spirit and commitment to the people’s welfare have complemented Governor Makinde’s infrastructural revolution and policy reforms,” Igbaotun stated.
As Supervisor for Works, Igbaotun specifically commended the administration’s focus on expanding road networks, rehabilitating public buildings, and investing in rural development. He cited the ongoing rehabilitation of key access roads in Ibadan South-West as a direct outcome of state-local government collaboration encouraged by the present administration.
“This is a government that listens, that acts, and that delivers. Governor Makinde’s leadership has made it easier for us at the local government level to execute impactful projects. Speaker Ogundoyin, on his part, has ensured legislative backing for these efforts through responsive lawmaking and oversight,” he added.
The State of the State Address, an annual tradition, served as a platform for the Speaker to present a midterm report of the Assembly’s legislative activities, highlighting over 60 bills and motions passed since June 2023, with a focus on good governance, economic growth, and citizen welfare.
Hon. Akinsunbo Igbaotun expressed confidence that the partnership between the Executive and the Legislature would continue to yield lasting dividends for the people of Oyo State.
“The journey is far from over, but the direction is clear — it’s one of progress, equity, and sustainable development,” he concluded.
