As the world marks Father’s Day, the Seyi Makinde Disciples, a notable socio-political support group in Nigeria, have paid glowing tribute to the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, hailing him as a quintessential father figure whose leadership style embodies compassion, vision, and responsible stewardship.
In a statement released on Sunday by the group’s spokesman, Olusegun C. A. Taiwo (OCAT), and signed by its convener, Laja Adeoye, the group praised Governor Makinde for his unwavering commitment to the growth and development of Oyo State and for serving as a beacon of hope, not only to the people of the state but to the younger generation of leaders across Nigeria.
“On this special occasion of Father’s Day, we celebrate the true father of the modern Oyo State, His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde FNSE. His people-first approach, wisdom, and sacrificial service continue to inspire us. He has proven, time and again, that fatherhood goes beyond biology; it is about mentorship, protection, and selfless leadership,” the statement read.
The Seyi Makinde Disciples also used the opportunity to reaffirm their support for the continuation of the PSM 2027 project; a vision they believe will build on Governor Makinde’s legacy and sustain the development blueprint currently transforming the state to the nation.
“We pray earnestly for the actualisation of PSM 2027. We believe that the values and vision of Governor Makinde must not end with his current term. The seeds he has sown must be nurtured and protected for future generations,” the group added.
The statement concluded with a call to all lovers of progress and good governance to emulate the fatherly virtues of Governor Makinde and rally behind initiatives that promote unity, equity, and development in Oyo State and beyond.
