The Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Worldwide, Oyo State Chapter mourned the demise of Sarkin Sasa Sardaunan Yamma, Alhaji Haruna Maiyasin Katsina who passed away on Saturday evening.
Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Worldwide, Oyo State Chapter through the news made available to the press by Hon. Tallest Innocent Nwosu, Senior Special Assistant To The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde on Community Relations (Igbo Community) described the demise of the Sarkin Sasa, who was also the chairman, Council of Arewa Traditional Rulers in the 17 Southern States of Nigeria, as the end of an era.
He commiserated with the immediate family of Alhaji Katsina and the entire Hausa/Fulani community in Oyo State and Southern Nigeria, praying to God to grant repose to the soul of the deceased Sarkin Sasa.
Hon. Tallest said: “On behalf of the good people of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Worldwide, Oyo State Chapter, I express our condolences to the Hausa/Fulani community in Oyo State over the demise of Alhaji Haruna Maiyasin Katsina, the Sarkin Sasa Sardaunan Yamma.
“The death of Alhaji Katsina at the age of 125 marks the end of an era.
“He was a great patriotic leader, who led his people with commitment and demonstrated utmost patriotism to all and sundry in every way.
“May Allah SWT grant him Aljanah Firdausi”
