Hon. Bibire, in a statement released today to media, injected enough emphasis into the importance of preserving the timeless Yoruba culture and traditions, saying, “Our cultural identity is what makes us who we are, and it is our responsibility to protect and promote it.”
He furthered by commending the hardworking Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for declaring a public holiday to mark the occasion, noting, “This gesture demonstrates his total commitment to appreciating and upholding Yoruba ethos.”
He equally communicated his profound appreciation to all the traditional rulers in Oyo State and across Yoruba lands for being good ambassadors of the Yoruba values.
“Let me also commend our revered traditional rulers in Oyo State and across every Yoruba land for their tireless efforts and selfless dedication to the promotion and preservation of our cultural heritage.
“They are the good ambassadors of the Yoruba values whose leadership and wisdom have been instrumental in keeping our exemplary traditions alive, and we owe them a debt of gratitude,” he established.
The philanthropist also urged the people of Oyo State to imbibe the moral principles that underpin Yoruba culture, such as integrity, commitment, courage, selflessness, discipline, hard work and what have you, stressing that “these values have shaped us into the resilient and valued people we are today across the entire globe.”
