
The Igbo Communities through Hon. Tallest, The Senior Special Assistant on Community Relations to The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde in a message, described the coronation of Oba Olakuleyin as a significant milestone in the history of Ibadanland and Oyo State.
Tallest equally congratulated the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), the Olubadan-in-Council, the High Chiefs, Senior Chiefs, Mogajis and Baales, the non indigenes as well as the people of the historic city, on witnessing this new dawn.
“I and the entire Igbo Communities heartily congratulate the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakuleyin, on his coronation. This is a momentous occasion for Ibadanland and Oyo State, and we are confident that Oba Olakuleyin’s reign would usher in a new era of peaceful coexistence, progress, and prosperity for all inhabitants of Ibadanland and Oyo State in general” Tallest said.
The SSA also praised the peaceful and successful transition of power, which he noted was a testament to the rich cultural heritage and tradition of Ibadanland and he equally hailed the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, ‘Seyi Makinde, for practically upholding the tradition and culture of Ibadanland by ensuring a smooth transition and coronation process.
He described Oba Olakulehin as a worthy successor and a respected leader who has the interest of Ibadanland at heart. “I have no doubt that he will lead the city of Ibadanland to greater heights”.
Hon. Tallest, expressed his commitment and that of every non indigene in Ibadanland to working closely with the new Olubadan to advance the interests of Ibadanland and Oyo State.
“Once again, we congratulate Oba Olakuleyin on his coronation and wish him a successful and impactful reign and also urged him to use his wisdom and experience to promote peace, progress, and development in Ibadanland. As we look forward to working with him to drive development and growth in Ibadanland and Oyo State,” Hon. Tallest added
Tallest also commended the entire people of Ibadanland for their peaceful conduct during the coronation ceremony, saying it showed the unity and harmony that existed in the city.
Tallest prayed to God to grant the new Olubadan more years and good health to continue to steer the ship of Ibadanland peacefully, and make his reign filled with tremendous developments and progress for the city.
